TRAILS TO WIELKA SOWA:
1. Red trail from the Sokolej Pass
Walking time: approx. 1.5 hours
Length: approximately 4.5 km
Difficulty level: Easy
Route description: This is the most popular and frequented route to Wielka Sowa, which leads through forests along a wide, comfortable road. Along the way, we pass picturesque clearings with views of the surrounding area. The trail is perfect for families with children and people who prefer a gentler approach.
2. Blue trail from Rzeczka
Walking time: approx. 1.5 hours
Length: approximately 4 km
Difficulty level: Easy
Route description: The route leads through beautiful spruce forests, with some steeper sections that may require more effort. In Rzeczka there is a convenient parking lot and several shelters that can be a good starting point for a trip.
3. Green trail from Walim
Walking time: approx. 2 hours
Length: approximately 5.5 km
Difficulty level: Medium
Route description: This trail leads through charming, less frequented areas. On the way we pass numerous clearings and forest fragments. The trail is less steep but requires a longer walk. Perfect for people who want to avoid the crowds.
4. Yellow trail from Jugów
Walking time: approx. 3 hours
Length: approximately 9 km
Difficulty level: Medium
Route description: This is one of the longest routes to Wielka Sowa. It leads through picturesque glades and forest paths and offers unique contact with nature. Due to the length of the route, it is recommended for more experienced tourists.
5. Black trail from Ludwikowice Kłodzkie
Walking time: approx. 3 hours
Length: approximately 8 km
Difficulty level: Medium
Route description: The route starts in Ludwikowice Kłodzkie and leads through quiet forest areas. The trail is less popular, so it allows you to enjoy peace and quiet.
Bicycle and winter trails
Wielka Sowa is also available to cyclists and winter sports enthusiasts. In winter, the trails leading from Rzeczka and Walim, where ski slopes and ski lifts operate, are popular. In summer, an extensive network of MTB routes attracts cyclists of various skill levels.
Practical information
Parking: Convenient parking lots are located in Przełęcz Sokolej, Rzeczka and Walim.
Observation tower: At the top of Wielka Sowa there is an observation tower, which is open from spring to autumn (tickets: PLN 8 – normal, PLN 5 – reduced).
Season: The best time for hiking is summer and early autumn, but reaching the peak in winter also has its charm (however, it requires proper preparation).
Wielka Sowa offers trails for every condition and preference, so everyone will find something for themselves. Picturesque landscapes, rich history and an observation tower make the mountain one of the most important tourist destinations in the Sudetes.

Wielka Sowa is easily accessible from many towns in Lower Silesia:
By car: The best starting points are Przełęcz Sokola, Rzeczka or Walim. There are parking lots near the trails.
By public transport: Buses from Wałbrzych and Dzierżoniów run to Walim and Rzeczka.
