Viaducts in Stańczyki, in Kiepojcie, in Botkuny
On the outskirts of the Romnicka Forest in Stańczyki there are the highest viaducts in Poland. They are the remnants of the former Gołdap – Żytkiejmy railway line, which was put into use in the interwar period. The bridges were built by the Germans and are the highest structure of this type in Poland. They resemble Roman aqueducts. The twin bridges have a reinforced concrete structure, five spans with equal arches, 15 meters high. They were designed by architects from Italy. They cross the valley of the Błędzianka River.
